Moraiolo (1500ft²): Moraiolo is the fat, round juicy olive that gives the real fruit and flavor to our olive oil. As such, our Moraiolo apartment is the full end of the Montecastello Villa, encompassed within the thickest part of the walls, triangulated to nearly six feet thick at the base!
Two floors offer lots of space with the emphasis on the chef's kitchen and the living/tasting room anchoring the corner of the Villa. The kitchen is the home to the Montecastelli cooking classes and wine presentations, when not rented out to families. The adjoining tasting room offers space to spread out around the great table and on those beautiful days, which we have so often in Tuscany, to open the doors directly out onto the private garden space (with picnic table and barbecue) and breathe in the sight of lovely Casole d'Elsa and the fairy tale view from the old stone window seats.
To the side of the Tasting Room is a quiet room where we can offer a Shiatsu massage after a day of exploring the back roads of Tuscany, or just a quiet space for meditation as left us in the legacy of the monks who were here before.
Upstairs is a small office looking out over the courtyard, for those who want to carry their work to a place of inspiration. Adjoining is a private suite with two small bedrooms, one with Queen sized bed and the other with two twin beds, convertible to a King Size. Both come with aerie views from the top corner windows of the Villa, and each has its own private adjoining bath.
